I think this is the worst post ever and someone needs to remove it immediately!
Just the thought of how much I miss GW Jrs, brought a tear to my eye! Avacado burgers were to die for! Where did that place go... sometimes bringing up old memories is not a good thing, not good at all.

Could there really be a taste in SA similar to the one from GW Jrs. Oh that would be a miracle!

I love (d) GW Jrs!

The other day I had the California-style burger from Freddy's (Custard). I could have sworn it tasted just like GW Jr's. (I'm wondering if it's anything like In'N'Out, a famous California burger place which I've never been to.) It seemed to use the same basic ingredients: lettuce, tomato, onions, (no pickles), and mayo-based sauce, like GW Jr's used to have.

Has anyone else tried this. What did you think?
I am sitting here and reading this and just said screw it. I have to try one. Now. There is one down the street from the office. I'll check back in in an hour.

Oz,
You are right. They are very close as I remember them from when I was a kid. I think the GW Jr.'s ones had a bigger meat patty and the mayo/thousand island/not-sure-what-it-is sauce was a bit more spicey

Does anybody remember these places in San Antonio ? The Gold Mine Video Arcade located on the upper level of Central Park Mall. Just inside the entrance that faced Loop 410. I entered a video game competetion there once. How about Malibu Grand Prix and the Virage race cars. It was located neat IH-10 and Callaghan, across from the Santikos Northwest 6 Theaters. How about the movie theaters located in Ingram Park Mall. There was also a video game room in the mall near the entrance to the theaters. If I remember correctly there was a T-shirt shop next to the theaters.
Also there was a water slide on San Pedro where it ends and becomes 281 North. It had 4 different water slides and you had to walk up the hill. It was not opened too long because aboy was tragically killed trying to hide from his parent. I do not recall the name of the water slide. My school was located on West Ave. just before you get to Bitters Road, right next to a Bar-B-Q restuarant. I remember going to the school at night and driving my car to the soccer field and watching movies from the San Pedro Drive In with binoculars. My friend and I would have fun trying to read lips of the people in the movie. Such good times are long gone.
