I wonder if its just me but I am seeing a change. Wal Mart is not somewhere I go often but today when I was there I swear all the employees were nice and went out of their way to greet the customers, even in the parking lot the guy getting the carts was saying hi to everyone.

I am just wondering if it is on purpose? Sort of like Disney World, whatever it is, I like it!

Maybe you were there right after their "smoking break"

I think it depends on the store. I don't do Walmart much anymore, but I will pop into the one at Bandera and Mainland every once in a while--it's always clean, full, and friendly.

However, I will not EVER AGAIN set foot in the one at Military and 410. Holy cow. I can see where people get their bad opinions of WM if they are basing it off stores like that. It's downright scary.

I've had a number of people mention to me that they would never return to that location. So, maybe corporate got wise. An improvement would benefit them, and the area.

Oh yeah, that location sux!!!! One time I went there because I happened to be driving 410 and WOW. The place looked like a bomb went off in it. It smelled bad. Ok, I know it's older and smaller... but dang.... have some pride in your store. Shame on the manager. Bandera & Mainland rocks. Been to the Jones-Maltsberger store, but last time I went there they were still doing the remo.

Maybe this is a new Walmart line: a great customer service is supposed to substitute not so great quality of the products sold there?

Is the bad Wal Mart that's being described the one on Military and 410 that is across from the NSA office? If so, I have been here on a regular basis and maybe you are talking about the bad smell coming from nearby. It was going on for a while and now it has seemed to permanently stopped. Word was is that is was the Sony semiconductor waste that was being disposed of. This is a super wal mart so I dunno if maybe the Wal Mart you are referring to is the one on Bandera and 410 that is definitely older and no groceries.

Sorry, my bad. I was referring to the one by the dollar theatre (dollar fifty?) off 410. Not paying attention and too tired, I need to go to sleep. That old store smells like an animal crawled through the door and died underneath a dress rack.

The WM @ military & 410 is a pet peeve of mine. The customers are rude, alot of the employees are rude and a long-held opinion of mine that at least 50% of the customers in the store at any given time are shop-lifting. I don't know why they would be, WM came right out and announced that they weren't going to prosecute anybody shop-lifting $25 or less. What idiots.
