it started hitting Westcreek at a little after midnight, which was luckily about 15 minutes after I got home. It's a really nice steady rain currently and hopefully it won't stop for quite a while. I'm glad I was wrong earlier

edit- forgot to mention that it's just rain and not much wind. There was some thunder and lightning before it hit, but just small stuff. I can hear some thunder in the distance, but nothing of substance.
and that is exactly what I wanted, just straight rain without all the drama. It is definitely raining pretty hard too

Same here! I did see a model earlier today, the NMN WRF, showed a scenario play out almost exactly as we see right now. I remember laughing at it and saying -- there's no way this will pan out, and now I have my foot in my mouth.

Starting to rain here pretty good now.

Anthony,

Thought you'd like to see what went through the DFW area this evening... some of the video they showed around Ft. Worth looked like a giant snowstorm had gone through...

Glad to hear y'all are finally getting some much needed rain! Guess rain dances DO work!

the thunder seems to be SSE of Westcreek and now there is a little bit of lightning here, but still mostly hard rain.

looks like I spoke too soon on the lightning.. one just hit REALLY close to my house and the thunder was pretty loud.

The DFW area can keep that weather please, although that lady newscaster with the super red cheeks trying to hold her umbrella was pretty funny. that hail looked awful and I'm not really too fond of tornadoes either

Good God! That's just nasty!

This looks very similary similar to the 95? storm that hit a festival up in Fort Worth. I've been pretty busy today so I've kept my focus down here, otherwise I'd be watching all else thats been happening, so I'm very glad you showed me these links.

I'm amazed the SPC page didnt show the tornado report, that was a healthy looking tornado.

As far as the rain dance goes, it only works for me because my dances are so awful even mother nature tries to stop me!

I was just out on the front porch watching all the lightning and rain and noticed there is absolutely no wind at all out here. hopefully that's not a bad thing... my Weatherbug (set for Seaworld) says the current temp is 56, but it's still very muggy and warm where I am. I would think we would get the cooler air before Seaworld would since it's coming from the WNW.
oh well, still a nice hard rain outside, so I'm happy
