Just out of curiosity, how much deeper do you think they will need to drill down to sustain your water supply if this drought lasts for another year?

We were looking to buy a small ranch and have decided to take a break until this particular drought is broken.

crazedchef, who did you use to build your home?

Sorry to hear about the dry well. How much will it be to dig deeper? Perhaps it may cheaper to get an above ground water storage (rain, etc)?

I've heard before that the areas just north of Boerne have severe problems with lack of enough available water. What water restriction level do they have there now?

Crazed Chef:

I had asked a question earlier and didn't get an answer so here it is again:

Just out of curiosity, how much deeper do you think they will need to drill down to sustain your water supply if this drought lasts for another year?

We were looking to buy a small ranch and have decided to take a break until this particular drought is broken.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. I am in an unusual circumstance as I am on top of a hill overlooking the Gaudalupe river valley. The well is currently at 380 and is in the Trinity aquifer. It was drilled to 480 so I believe that I will be able to just lower the pump and add extra casing. The Cow Creek is much more reliable and it is deeper. Just found out all of this yesterday. cannot give exact cause I only have a 11 year old bill to go by.

I inherited this place from my poor Uncle who saved all of his life only to retire and come down with Parkinson's :-( Been coming up here my entire life. The house is built in stages with parts of it already 80 or so years old. My Uncle, Grandfather, and dad built on additions over the years. Very country house. Would love to build another house up here overlooking the valley on the back of the hill. This is all only if I win my cases against AIG! I was injured in Baghdad and have been waiting on spinal cord surgery for three years now. have not worked since coming home. My first lawyer threw me under the bus and threw my case (he didn't even file a brief, pre or post on my behalf). I am incredibly lucky I have a good family and a great place to live otherwise I would be on the streets by now....

Sorry to hear that, man... and thanks for the info! Hopefully your water level (and all of ours) will rise soon!
