it was short but fierce, and it seems like our relatives a mile and a half away got nothing, but it was glorious. and even though it's still hot, it feels nice not having the sun beat down so unyielding for once.

hoping this trend keeps up!

Hottest my car indicated was 116, which was just north of Alamo Heights on Austin Hwy., and I believe it too. Freaking beyond hot out there, but luckily cloudy and only 109 out here on the far far west siiiiiide.

Reps upon recharge please.
I'll be enjoying something a little cooler. This 100+ before noon is for the birds and absolutely takes away the ability to do any running during the afternoon. I guess there is such a thing as too hot after all..

I live in Alamo Heights, and I can definitely agree with you that it had to have been that hot out here. It was horrid, I can handle 100º, but I couldn't handle this.

Temps looking better but the temps are not the whole issue. Brace yourself, it looks like the Pacific Decadal Oscillation is in full swing. We maybe just be approaching the peak of the 20-30 year hot/dry cycle which started in '98. We could be looking for 3-5 years of historic drought and heat. Winters might be colder but the lack of rain is going to set us up for another very dry year and that old bugaboo, heat and high pressure could be back with a vengeance by June. Don't believe me, do your own research. We could be seeing 60-70% less rain over the next 3-5 years. I love rain, I want rain, but I came in the 60's and it looks like I will probably never see really wet Texas again. We may have to wait for the 2020's to start seeing an upswing. If I can retire when I want to, I may be moving to greener pastures out of Texas. I don't like dust and dead trees.

I grew up in Ohio, and moved away for good about 6 years ago. Been here in SA for 3.

This weekend was the first time I have ever said "I wish I were back in Ohio"... it was so insanely hot out.. I walked outside yesterday for all of 20 seconds and got a massive headache.

I am anxious for "fall" to get here!

Weathermen always predict rain 6-9 days from now, because they need someone to watch their broadcasts. No one would tune in if they said "I'm predicting 100 degree temps for the next 3 months".
This is so true.
