This is one for AnthonySA I'm sure....but DH and I were wondering. SA frequently has cloudy mornings (even when there's no "chance" of percip) which give way to beautiful sunny afternoons. What atmospheric conditions cause this and is it unique to the area?

Same thing in SoCal. Marine layer there. No, it's not unique.

this is what I want:
Snow continues to fall in parts of the Northern Rockies and now into the High Plains of western Montana and Wyoming.
Winter weather advisories as well as heavy snow and winter storm warnings are in effect for today in these areas.

and NYC will be back to normal by later today and probably cooler than normal after that. We'll still be nasty, disgusting HOT
