The OP wants to know "The best mexican restaurants in SA"
not "Every single restaurant that serves mexican food in SA"

She's only here for 1 week,
if all of us tell her 5-7 places to go to, she's gonna have to eat 5 times a day.

LOL! I like POLLO LOCO sometimes, I love the crispy chicken tacos, they are very unique. The citrus chicken is good to, but it's a little better at TACO CABANA. I don't like most of the sides and other items at POLLO LOCO though

Any place in San Antonio that has "wet" burritos, like LA/Midwest style cheese and salsa topping? My SA friends call it an enchilada, but I miss them a lot.

I'm sorry but using "best Mexican food" and "Taco Cabana" in the same paragraph constitutes blasphemy. Obviously no one eats at some of them here on the far wesssss side. Ever since it was sold to "outsiders" the food has been deteriorating (rather rapidly I might add).

Has anyone ever visited Casa Real? They have one location left (I think) at Ingram & 410 near Joe's Volcano and some tat shops. Their salsa is unique, with thin chips. I just remember they bring the food out hot hot hot (don't touch the damn plate) and the queso flameado is excellent with the corn tortillas.

Yes, I've been there a couple of times and was pleasantly surprised. I wish it was still People's, but oh well. LOL
