I know for a fact HEB owns the land on 1604 and Bulverde rd..across the highway from the new MCD's and Starbucks...Thats north east to me.

You are correct about the land on 1604 and Bulverde rd. They also own the land on the corner of 1604 and Nacogdoches (across from Rolling Oaks mall)

I do enjoy it. Being literally equal distance between the Fiesta Trails HEB and that one it's nice to have two good HEBs to choose from. It's easier to get in and out of the Babcock/Huebner HEB but the Fiest Trails still has a better selection of higher end things. Not to mention I still have a hard time finding some things.

I don't think the HEB Plus off Potranco is dumpy but it is congested. I have never been there and it NOT be packed, no matter the time of day, but its not "dumpy," just has a lot of traffic which makes sense since that whole area is a clusterfudge.

Agreed.. I used to go really late at night... like 12am, it seemed always to have a large amount of people shopping (or working and hogging all of the aisle) and only 1 register open.

Does anyone know what's going to happen to the old HEB on Bandera and 1604? Will it just be an ugly empty eye sore? I hope not.

Probably end up as a Dollar store or some other junk.

I don't see why they did use it as part of the new store?

Nothing will go in there. It will be an eyesore, like we have all over town from closed HEB's, closed Academy's, closed Wal-mart's, closed K-Mart's, and closed Albertson's. It is disgusting to me that these big stores choose to do this, seemingly without any repercussions. Sure, HEB does SO MUCH for the community.
