Hello, I'll be moving down to the SA area in a few months. My cell phone recently died just as my contract expired. I was thinking of staying with T-mobile, what's your experience with cell phone reception in SA? Do you prefer or dislike a particular carrier?

We've had the best luck with Verizon.

I've had outstanding results w/Sprint. Lots of customers/friends with other carriers, but in terms of towers/signal, I've stayed w/Sprint for 9 years now.

Really, Sprint? Sprint was absolutely horrible in my area. Took several calls and a technician to tell me that they just didn't have a strong signal here.. That got me out of the contract.

I've been with AT&T since 1994. Move here in 1997 and kept AT&T. Obviously I'm very happy with it.

Yep - Sprint. And bear in mind that I travel Texas pretty extensively, and out west via motorcycle as well. I have it interfaced w/the bike's sound system, so obviously keeping in contact is pretty critical to me! Some areas WILL be "dead" zones with ANY service (one will work well in YOUR area, but not in mine, and vice-versa). That's why the BEST thing is to actually try the various carriers before making a final choice. Also, bear in mind that some phones do better than others, as well!

I used to travel for a living and I the only place I EVER lost service with Verizon was Lake Havasau, AZ. Now a lot of my work consists of being out on remote ranches and driving quite a bit. Never lose service. A lot of the subs that work for some of my clients have T-Mobile because they supposedly get great service in mexico, but they always have trouble here in the SA and Boerne.

Their phone selection isn't great, but getting better. Customer service is just OK, but i NEVER lose service.

Have to agree with Kev...I travel extensively as well. I do have a little trouble coming East on I-10 about 20 miles after blowing out of El Paso though (not that I'm driving out there that often). I think most folks have cell phone issues there though.

I was a T-Mobile customer for about a week. I gave it up because the coverage at my house (in North Central SA, inside 1604) was poor.

The Sprint network covers my house much better.

Before that I had Verizon and it was fine, too.
