No problem! Got some from inside looking out too. My kids knew when the Wright replica was gonna be there a couple weeks or so back. Still we missed it somehow. My DD and her hub are joining CAP and presently schooling in aircraft maintenance..

I agree that Kelly is the place to go to see some good action. Google the intersection of Castroville Rd and Air Lawn St if you want to see the best place to hangout.

Stinson is a cool field, but unless you want to watch foreign student pilots do touch and go's in a 172, I'd probably go somewhere else.

Kelly is OK when the the F-16s and C-5s are flying, but there's usually more activity over at Randolph due to its training mission.

However, I've seen more odd stuff, such as B-52s, the NASA Super Guppy, and of course the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) at Kelly. Working on a hill that overlooks the airfield helps!

Cheers! M2

I started my pilot's license training out of Stinson. I really didn't understand Stinson's significance in aviation until I watched KLRN :: Wings Over the Alamo "Wings over the Alamo."

GREAT video to watch if you are into aviation and San Antonio history.
