I'm tellin' ya, it breaks my HEART, I was literally in tears when I finally had to admit that's where I need to go.....

breaks my heart to leave here..... literally.... I cry every time I think of it or speak of it or write about it.....

Hey now, I'm one of those so-called fools for multiple reasons. I have many friends from Dallas who can't wait to go back. You may wind up loving it, but if you don't, SA would love to have you back. Either way, if you must go, make the best of it and don't ever root for the Mavericks.

That was a great game last night! Did Lebron forget to get off the plane?

Gosh...I can't imagine being proud of a bunch of jerks just because they are athletically gifted and make millions. I would name a few teams like that, but the point is, the Spurs are not only super athletes, but they happen to be decent guys that are a refreshing change as role models for our kids. David Robinson is my hero! Super guy all around....I LOVE seeing him at the games. He certainly wasn't in any hurry to get out of this city. He's made it his home and dedicated his life to make it better! Our sports role models need to step up a few levels in the "integrity" department.
It seems like "entertainment" now is about the "bad a**" guys, but the Spurs are all that in a good way!

Yes, thank you for bringing this up, wCat.... that's why I love my boyfriend Bruce.... (LOL, his wife Yardley would approve, right??? LOL)... He has an incredibly awesome life story, but you'll never hear it coming from his lips. He just suits up and shows up and doesn't complain. When confronted with criticism, he allows others their own opinions and he just moves on with his life and his responsibilities. He really raised himself, even from elementary age on; his parents sold househould stuff, including the TV and sometimes furniture to get drugs. But Bruce got himself up and dressed every single solitary morning, fixed his own breakfast, packed his own lunch, got himself to school, did his schoolwork and worked hard at basketball. Big aspirations for a little guy who had LITERALLY no family support - basically, not even ANY family in any meaningful way..
But he did it; he made it through grade school, highschool, then college and became one of the finest and most-respected players in the NBA. He doesn't complain, he doesn't whine, he suits up and shows up and does his job and then he shares with kids in the community, in the hopes that someone else will carry on in spite of all odds, just like he did...
You see why he is my 'boyfriend'????? LOLOLOL

It's also worth mentioning that he completed his college degree well after his NBA career started. He was already making pretty decent money, but wanted to be a role model to his nieces and nephews. He had to get notes from Pop excusing him from class whenever they had a game out of town or a mandatory practice session that interfered with school. He's my boyfriend, too!

I thought about this today...let's do a side by side comparison shall we? The players shall remain nameless:
Player 1
College degree from a prestigious university
Married, has a child (after he was married)
3 NBA Titles, 2 NBA MVP awards
NBA Rookie of the year
Has averaged a double-double in all but one season in the league
Received all-NBA and all-Defensive honors his first 9 seasons in the league
Player 2
Did not go to college
Not married, has one (soon to be two) children out of wedlock
No NBA titles, no MVP awards
NBA Rookie of the year
3 time all-NBA team
Now tell me, which player should be getting the media attention and endorsements? Which player should be the role model?

AMEN, brother!!! LOL...
but you know what? That's the beauty of Tim Duncan and other Spurs: They DO because they challenge themselves and because striving for the best is a noble and good thing to do - NOT for the accolades.....
This thing about LeBron's son and his soon-to-be second son bothers the heck out of me on several levels.....
First of all, in MY estimation - others can feel how they feel about this, but - in my estimation, he NEEDS TO MARRY THAT GIRL!! He should have married her long ago; and if for some reason, that was not a satisfactory arrangement, he should have left her alone and NOT gotten her pregnant.....
Secondly, as Gloria and LeBron carted that baby boy all over the court at the winning of the Eastern Conference, WHERE WAS THE BABY'S MOTHER? What, is she good enough to have your babies (for you AND your Mom) but not good enough to show up at something as powerful as the winning of an NBA Conference championship????
SHAME ON YOU LEBRON AND GLORIA!!!!!
