Hi All,
My family is considering locating to San Antonio or the surrounding areas, I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight as to what a registered nurse with 5yrs experience would start off making? I can only seem to find info on new grads, I am currently a labor & delivery nurse. In my research I am under the impression I would make at least a minimum $30/hr, I would have to work at my current job 30yrs to make $30/hr & no the cost of living is not cheaper here in Iowa if you make crap money where you can only keep your head barely above water, also my husband is from san antonio originally so we are aware of the heat & love it as we try to visit once a year & have finally decided to just move there. Unfortunately while visiting we have only done the tourist things & never did look around the neighborhoods to live, I have seen several hospitals hiring such as santa christus rosa, university hospital, Methodist stone oak & methodist childrens for the labor & delivery department. Our biggest decision is if moving there we would benefit financially. Thank you in advance.

you would financially do better here, yes. You should also consider Houston. They pay serious bonuses.
