Historical/Old photos of San Antonio
I guess this thread follows the Gone But Not Forgotten thread but was wondering if anyone knew of any sites to see old photos of San Antonio. It doesnt matter when they are from or what they are of. Just feel like being nostalgic.

Hello Dube.......I'm a complete local history freak! I wish there was a site for great old pics of SA. I have tons of books, but I'm afraid there might be some copyright issues with scanning them and posting them.
If anyone knows how to put together a web site easily and knows about copyright laws......maybe we could get a historical web site going. I'll be glad to help. Possibly the Texas Historical Commssion might be able to help.....and may have some pictures you're interested in!
Good luck!

I didnt want to post the actual photo, I thought it might make the thread load kinda slow, so here is the url of a photo that dates back to 1929. its a line of people during the depression here in San Antonio

I looked at this photo, and it made me think of how rough life must have been then.

I know this thread started a long time ago, but I thought I would add anyway. The Institute of Texan Cultures has a huge selection of black and whites of San Antonio history. You can purchase them and have the Institute blow them up to the size you want.
