Has anyone had any dealings with the San Antonio Chargers cheerleading or football? I'm looking for a youth cheerleading group to get my daughter involved. They seem pretty legitimate, but I can't find a lot of information on them, on the web. For a group that competes, I thought I would find more information.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on youth cheerleading? Daughter is only 5, so she's still a bit young for anything over-bearing

The Chargers have a new Commissioner and they are very unorganized. They charged us $130 for football which was too include the jersey, pants, pads, socks, and mouth guard and the jerseys were used and dirty with my son's name ironed on top of the dirt. My girls did cheer and that new cheer coordinator didnt have a clue. It is now the second game and only some of the girls have uniforms and the coordinator hides from the parents. The commissioner's wife curses anyone out who doesn't agree with her or who wants an explanation about their money! I promise you that this will be the last time we ever go with the chargers. If I hadnt spent so much money now I would leave! STAY AWAY! You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we ended up signing our daughter on to the Judson Junior Rockets. They're very organized, but a bit over the top, haha.

Of Course with this being the first year for new commissioners, things can be a little hectic. Yes, it can seem that they are unorganized; however, they try and along with a price of $130. for new, can you imagine what it would have costed for everything to be new. The jerseys were not that worn. I've seen them. Now $250 for the cheerleaders and for everything they received even late, that was reasonable. That new cheer coordinator's name is Butler, sounds to me like the time to get to know her name was not important either. The commisioner's wife (Amy) doesn't curse unless she is provoked. Sounds to me like a bit of bashing. My daughter; however, does cheer on for this team as well and yes it was frustrating that they didn't receive everything on time. Did you realize we were not the only team that received our uniforms late? Try Fox Tech who is still missing 30! I spent my money as well, and I can't say whether I would go with another team next year. I believe in chances and with this being their first year, I think they have been reasonable, patient, and they are trying. Even babies weren't born walking. At least not the last time I checked. Honestly, if I were that unhappy with this team, I wouldn't allow my daughter to cheer I would have pulled her out rather then to keep her there. Even if I spent so much money. So we (Chargers) had a bad start but they play great and the 5-6 cheerleaders took 3rd las year and 7-8 1st 2 yrs ago. Not bad for being unorganized! I believe the question at hand was how were the cheerleaders, not the coordinators anyway.

Chargers have come along way from before. It is unorganized to the people who bounce checks or don't pay what they are suppose to pay on time, yet they want everything "right now"!! The quality of cheer uniforms is the same as the High Schools, not bad for a non-profit organization, who is one of three with that type of that uniform. Other than the football jerseys (with last name printed on back, which other organizations do not do) everything is brand new and parents keep.... pants, socks, 7 pc sets, mouth pieces, trophy and it includes homecoming and banquet. If people knew how to read or listen they would have understood that the jerseys were not new. Other teams reuse both game pants and jerseys every year !!! These were some of the many changes in the first year with more to come. The Commissioner is one that is the type that what he says or promises he keeps. Next year the cheer program will have another new outfit and the football will go with integrated pants and a totally new uniforms along with this years new equipment !!! Like people say... if you think the grass is greener on the otherside then get your COW ASS over there!!! Man up and make yourself known or get your mute ass over to the Commissioners and talk to them, because they never turn away from talking to people and they tell you staight up how it is!!! If we dont see you next year, well... people like you don't deserve the good things to come, we probably don't need you this year, so drop from the program and you can bet no one will miss you !!! For everyone of your type (with attitude) 4 more with supportive attitude will jump from bad teams that don't keep their promises or cheat out parents and come over to ours, so see ya !!!

ok so there seem to be bashing going on here. I believe that since this a non profit organization then the unhappy parents should have stepped up to fill in the holes or assist in organizing. Hmm.... thats a thought. It is a team right? I hope people understand that the people out there with their children are 100% VOLUNTEERS! These volunteers hold regular jobs and have families of their own yet they still give up their free time to spend time with children in a sport they love. In some cases some volunteers have no idea what they are doing but instead of complaining we are helping. Wait a minute does that not sound like a team?? I'm pretty sure that you ask professional teams if they have a weakness then their only option is to make it work with what they got. Which means everyone coaches, assistants, players, cheerleaders, and yes parents pitch in. I believe that Carlos and Amy are doing a great job. And on that note LETS GO CHARGERS!!!!

From reading the post on here it sounds like the Chargers may have some issues but what organization doesn't. I think for those people that are truly unhappy with the way things are ran they should step up and put themselves in the position to make changes instead of sitting back and bashing the organization and the people that are involved in running the Chargers. I believe the organization has made a great improvment from last year and yes there is still room for improvement but i do believe that will come in due time. Carlos the (commissioner) has a big heart for the sport and for the organization and wants nothing but the best for the kids and the parents involved and i believe HE is doing a damn good job.
