Does anyone know of any ponds stocked with fish that are "easily catchable"?My 3 year old boy really wants to fish so I wanted to take him somewhere he would be ok and have a nice time fishing. I prefer salwater fishing, either surf, kayak or deepsea fishing so I'm not really knowledgeable with regard to fresh water pond fishing.

I'd be ok with entrance fees or paying by the pound. I just really want my son to enjoy the experience with his dad.

Thanks cd

Miller's pond

It is a stocked pond in a public park. You just need a fishing license for the adults.

Also this is from the state of texas

The city site is out of date and they are still stocking it. The Texas state website shows they put trout in a few months ago and were scheduled to put in catfish this week.

Also Loaner equipment.

Texas also waives fishing permits at many state parks. They also offer kids fishing classes

And Blanco State Park is just down the road.

Hondo Creek Catfish Lake & RV‎U.S. 90, Hondo, TX 78861(830) 741-5845‎

Or, if you have a DoD ID card, there is one on Camp Bullis that is an old swimming pool. Its only open Sat/Sun. For this one, call 295-7577 for more info.

Miller's Pond (mentioned above) can be good and is free other than the license.

I think my brother took my niece to this place. He said the fish would bite as soon as the bait hit the water. She loved it.

I thought I posted this, but I must not have...

Anyhow, the "concrete pond" at Camp Bullis is catch and keep only...you cannot return any of the fish you hook to the water.
