To be surprised that somebody pulled their ..... out in a porn theater,
is like being surprised that somebody found a ...... stain on the seats of a porn theater.

As a friend once said, "if I drop a dollar on the floor, I leave it. If a twenty, I would have a major decision to make."

I will stand by what I believe in that they put that place where those men were caught and even the ACI place in poorer neighborhoods because they knew they could get away with it in those areas and that's what's plain sad.
So, if you have a problem with those kinds of places, and we assume for the sake of argument that those kind of places end up in the poorer areas of town because the wealthier areas will not abide them, then the solution is simple: MOVE OUT OF THE POOR AREA. Because if you're waiting on government to make all unappealing places illegal everywhere, don't hold your breath.

The better-off take themselves out of places that have elements they do not like because that's what money buys you. If having money didn't mean you could buy at least the appearance of nice, clean, respectable, law-abiding surroundings, nobody would care about having it.

If the real issue is that you don't have enough money to move out of the poorer area of town that hosts the establishments you don't like, cry me a river. Everyone in the world is fighting the fight of increasing their income and moving up in the world, especially these days.

Yep, you're right, I have 500,000 to buy a home in Alamo Heights. I should just get up and move out right now! NOT. For the priviledged in San Antonio who can afford lusicious neighborhoods and the BEST schools in San Antonio....that's great for them. But for the majority who cannot, your comment is extremely unrealistic.

In addition....Sorry, but I'm not a "quit-and-move-to-a-wealthier-place-because-I-can't-take-it-anywhere-else" kind of person.

I like where I live. I like the Tobin Hill/SAC area and I grew up in this area so it does have a special importance to me. In my post, I am making an OBSERVATION of how I see it and what I believe. You may assume I don't like where I live but I do. A community is a community and they should WORK TO IMPROVE IT.

Others may run and flee but that's them. I like it where I live and I'm definitely not crying a river.

Live and let live kids: Porn shops don't hurt people, they don't corrupt children and they do far less psychological damage than most organized religions out there- Case-in-point, the Vatican doing their level best to cover-up decades of child molestation.

It's just porn. It hasn't led, directly, to the death of anyone, unlike alcohol and cigarettes, both of which kill on a daily basis (and are also perfectly legal). If an old codger wants to rub one out in an adult theater, it seems to me a victimless crime. Doesn't the PD have bigger fish to fry?

The ACI operates as a totally different entity: It's labeled as a health club by the city, which allows it a greater leeway when it comes to nudity, wet areas, etc. Gay bathhouses serve their purpose for folks who realize the risk they're taking. It's no different that going onto Manhunt or Adam4Adam and finding a 'quickie.' ACI just happens to provide the meeting spot. It'll be interesting to see, with the Pearl District slowly changing the neighborhood, how businesses like ACI either transform or simply leave the area. Much like with what's happening to Liberty Bar: Their rent is now just way too high and they took an offer at St Benedict's.

One of MANY times in life where you just have to use something sharp to stab out your mind's eye. Your mind's eye comes back, it always does, but you've got to kill the image.
