Question Property Taxes

Why is there such a difference in property taxes in your area.I can find a 250,000. house with taxes over 6,000. (500.00 a month) and some with 3,500 for the same price. The school taxes can be over 3500.00 by themselves. Is it based on districts, counties or what.

Property taxes are basically 2.5% - 3% in this area. I believe what you're seeing is the difference if someone has exemptions, like over 65 and disability. The over 65 will freeze your assessed values for property taxes.

Won't the disability also freeze your taxes?
