Anyway...for both Catriona and Iowagirl...it should be a large triangular shaped house to the EAST side of 1518. At the road, the drive is flanked with two curved half walls. There is a long circular drive in the shape of a fat 9...LOL>
There is an upper story or high ceiling in the center of the house....and a separate square garage or guest house toward the back by the pool. The pool is a free form algae filled pool.

If this is the house, it was formerly owned by Clifford and Pamela Johnson....ie "CJ". They bought the property in 1978. They owned about 57 acres that went right up to the old gas station/truck stop at the corner of 1518 and I-10.

The owers before them were Albert and Lucille Wiederstein who purchased 237 acres of this land in 1920. If that name sounds familiar, it's the same family that "Wiederstein Rd" is named for....off I -35 North of Garden Ridge.

Iowagirl.....not sure that helped for an interesting story....but the "design" of the house is certainly unconventional....sort of a Las Vegas desert bordello look? If they built it in the 70's that was the age of the advent of hot tub parties in remote areas etc....the mind can get creative!
there ya go!! that's the house! thanks WCat and Catriona!! yes, the design of the house totally reminds me of Hotel California, like i said earlier. right?! i need to check this out a little more. there HAS to be more to it!

You're probably right about the browsers being incompatible, but at least we found the right house! Thanks for the info. By the looks of the place, it would make a great place to have a Halloween Haunted House!!

So, which house was it after all? Someone post a link from maps.live.com so we can take a 'bird's eye' view of what she was talking about...

Cheers! M2

Try my link on post #90. It comes up for me. If you can't find it, go to the intersection of I-10 and 1518 South of Randolph AFB. Find the closed truck stop on the NE corner. Follow 1518 along the East until you come to the first gated tract with a triangluar shaped house and the circular drive.

Web browser and Live Maps are incompatible
Is this the place, with the red roof? It doesn't have the gated wall as described, or the '9'-shaped driveway nor the pool that were also mentioned. All I see is a satellite dish in the back yard. The close-up shots don't look that ominous either...

Looking north
Looking east
Looking south
Looking west

Do I have the wrong place?

Cheers! M2

yeah, i think the browsers are not compatible. this isn't the house. if you go under google maps, it comes up under 6772 FM1518 converse. once you find it there...you'll be able to find it better in maps live.

IG.....no trade secrets.....most of it is public records. I've just been doing it for so long that I sort of know some of the short cuts and out of the way places to find things. It's really more of a hobby for me. I'm fascinated in so called haunted places, more for the history than the hauntings. I can find former property owners, and in some cases just "residents" (renters or other family), but certain "incidents" are harder to document. If there was criminal activity or something recorded it's possible to find....but really "old" info on unimproved land is almost impossible to document unless there was some historical event that took place there.

Are you in SA? If you are, I'll be happy to look up what I can about your propety in private. DM me and let me know.
