This place sat well back from the road in one corner by itself. I believe there were RR tracks behind it. Seems like someone told me back then it had been an illegal casino or speakeasy. This Alto Diferente or something like that owned by Albert Friedrich & wife. Very interesting. Most people probably don't know some of this. Albert was I believe the brother of Ed Friedrich creator of Friedrich Refrigeration and Air conditioning here. Which are kin to the Rogers family which I believe have been long time owners and settlers of the Shavano Ranch area. Most likely the Rogers Ranch is there baby. The Rogers are again the owners of "The Buckhorn Hall of Horns". Which was originally owned by relative Albert Friedrich. Rogers and Friedrich all kin to Biedenharns. The Biedenharns were in on the very beginnings of the Coca Cola Empire. Pemberton a pharmacist in the N.E. created the coke formula and sold it from his fountain in the drug store . Deciding to expand his operation he found the Biedenharn Candy Company which had bottling equipment. They became the first bottlers of Coca Cola and to this day own most of south Texas franchise to bottle Coke. Including S.A.'s bottling facility.
Thanks for all this info SATX56!! I have some really great info on the Friedrich's Rogers etc.....but you did a great job of putting together a nice synopsis of all the relations. Definitely power familes of SA! Nice timing with this map from Kmerian.

I will tell you something. I would be a lot more afraid of a real live derelict or some scumbag then I would be of a ghost. White witches are ok, black witches, who are for real, and practicing black arts I got no use for. The witches of fairy tails don't bother me because I don't believe in them. But there are some real crazy people in this world and that is who we need to be looking out for.

Looking at that topo map you can see the flood plain to the east of Wurzbach and north of Fred. Rd. that would be the fairways of Turtle Creek. The high ground next to it would be where they built the club house near Wurzbach. Great map!

O.k , The lot of them all had a piece apparently of 300 Garrity in Terrell Hills. Haven't been through there lately but I'll bet they tore down the old 3 story "Castle" and made this new Osborn sub . Seen by satellite . You with me?

My DH did tile in the Osborne place, about a year ago. Different owners. Still stately as can be.

I think Osama Bin Laden lives in the one across the street (Biedenharn's?) with the 10' foot brick wall surrounding it!

I might have the two mixed up. The one huge brick mansion has had a 10-12 ft. brick wall around it for at lest the past 15 years. Is that the Osbourne Mansion? The one across the street, North on Eldon, going towards Harry Wurzbach, is the one my DH worked in. Beidenharns???

See all these families were involved with this house. None of them wanted to live there because it cost to much to heat and cool!! Go figure. I don't know my architecture or I'd describe it. You may be talking about a house down the road behind it which I've seen but don't know who owned it. Man it's just been so long since I've been in Terrell Hills. The house I'm speaking of had a very old fairly big pool behind it. Going east on Garrity if you pass the house you'd see the pool on your right. But I bet they tore it down . What a pity. We went to a birthday party there. I've been on all three floors. Seen the dumbwaiter. I know the story of an intruder being killed by Mr Osborn in the early 50's. This story was told to me by the families nanny whom I knew well. She was part of Osborn and Barrett family. She was on the second floor sleeping as the intruder came in the front door. Mr William B Osborn senior was awakened by a noise. He got a gun and started down the stairs. About half way down he saw a black man standing and fired through the banister. The bullet hole is still in one of the uprights. The man died. I was told this account by the nanny while standing right where the shot must have been fired from. Wicked!!

one or two of the Biedenharn boys were living in the servants quarters over the garage. Which housed an old Rolls Royce. I'm not sure where the Osborn family lived at that time. The house in question remained unoccupied.
