I prefer Bill's over Rudy's. Rudy's is always fatty and not that tasty. At Rudy's I prefer their turkey or sausage. I think Rudy's gets too much hype. When I used to go years ago in Leon Springs it was a lot better. The one on 151 has failed to meet myself and others I know expectations multiple times.

I will have to try some of the others listed here.

Rudy's is one of the most popular BBQ joints in SA, for good reason. Take a look at the parking lot of the Bill Miller's next to the one the one in Westover Hills, it almost looks deserted! Whoever decided to put that restaurant next to Rudy's should be fired, I won't be surprised when it closes down (as it eventually will).

Bill Miller's will get props for its sweet tea. It's about the only thing worth getting from there. Otherwise, the food rates in quality with CiCi's pizza...cheap and filling, but mostly tasteless fare...

You can look on google maps for teh texas monthly top 50 bbq and it maps the best ones out from when they did their thing.

I also love Two Bros. I have had Augies 2 times and will not make any effort to have it again.
Rudys is good as a fast food hit but go search out the real good bbq places.

I agree that City market is awesome. I also like Blacks over in Lockhart.

If you are ever going to Corpus from here Vans is a great hit too. I like their sandwich. It has a little bit of everything in it and they are located right on the highway.

PS in Texas asking which is teh best bbq is like asking what is the best religion or political group. Your likely to get a lot of different answers.

oh yeah. Bill Miller's brisket sucks. They should just call it pot roast. I do like the chicken though.

Hate to disagree, but I've been there several times and pretty much never liked their brisket and it's overpriced and with 8-10,000 sq ft(counting some of the patio area) or so, it's not a little hole in the wall
