We are thinking of enrolling our daugther at this school but can't seem to find any reviews anywhere online. Does anyone have any input into this school? Its on Huebner Road in the Medical center. Thank you!

If you like the Montessori method of learning, and you live or work in the area, it is a good school. Our family looked at just about all the Montessori schools in the area (along with Primrose, Goddard, Rainbow Station, etc..) for our preschool needs. We ended up deciding on Montessori Earth and were happy with our decision.

If you are looking for a preschool that matches the overall look and feel of nicer elementary schools in NISD or NEISD, you should look elsewhere; you may not be as happy here. Many of our friends enrolled their children at these more traditional preschools/daycare. Initially we questioned if we should as well, but since it was preschool, we figured we could change if we did not end up liking MES.

Considering our child's experience between ages 3-5 at MES, we were pleased. We did not change preschools. The individually driven learning is not always ideal, but it helped our child excel, especially between ages 4-5. Of course, adding Kumon and working with your child on reading at home can do the same.

DM if you would like specific questions answered. And of course, make an appointment and visit if you haven't already done so. Lastly, speak to parents dropping off or picking up students for a current viewpoint.

We have a friend at Montessori Earth right now and they're pleased. Have you looked into the Discovery School? It isn't Montessori but still very hands on, child based learning: Discovery School is an Accredited Preschool in San Antonio Texas :: Private Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade & Early Childhood Education. We also offer Mothers Day Out, after school care and Summer Camp.. It's also accredited through National Association for the Education of Young Children. It's a little further but still close, might be worth comparing as well. GL!

My daughter goes to MES, we love it. She is 2 and has learned a lot there. It's one of the more affordable Montessori schools. The staff is very professional and I like their teaching method

There is a school called Suburban School off Huebner; very close to the school you are looking at. Our daughter has been there for a few years and LOVES it. Just wanted to give you a heads up if you are wanting to be in that particular area. They don't advertise much, mainly, word-of-mouth.

I will highly recommend Pinnacle Montessori Academy off Bulverde Road, San Antonio, TX.
I like them very much. Teachers are very friendly and Montessori trained. My child is learning a lot and very happy to go to school every day.
The school is highly secured and monitored. You need to key in the code (separate for each parents) to enter the school. They have a big screen TV in the front office and you can watch your child from there. They serve hot lunch. They have a walking trail behind their school. Children can go and explore during recess time.

The AMS lists four Montessori schools in San Antonio.

Texas AMS Schools (http://www.amshq.org/schls/tx.html - broken link)

The North American Montessori Teachers Association has teachers in some of the schools listed above as well as others in San Antonio.

School-Directory

In short while AMI was the first organization to form Montessori schools it is not the only one nor does a school need to belong to any organization to be considered one.
