Does anyone know how I can get a job with NEISD? I live on the NE side and am looking for administrative/clerical work. When I go to the job postings online, all the available posts are noted "Internal Only" meaning you have to be an employee already to even apply. So is my best bet to go for a job like crossing guard or lunch lady (which anyone can apply for) and then once I get it and only then, I can apply for the positions I really want? The policy makes no sense to me, but if anyone works there and can give me insight, I'd appreciate it.

Just so you know...a lot of NEISD admin and office staff were laid off this past semester. This is why they are only showing internal job postings. They are shuffling around the displaced employees right now. I'm not sure what are the requirements for cafeteria staff.

Just like corporate america, the school districts hire to fill positions internally as well. As you will see on many threads NEISD has had layoffs this year due to budget cuts. This is happening across the country with many districts for teachers/admin/clerical/bus you name it.

My advice is keep applying, keep making contacts but don't wait around for the job. Take a job to do what ya need to do.

ANY good company will post openings internally first, then open them up to the outside after a set period of time. School districts are no different.
