We were planning a vacation in San Antonio later this week. We noticed the weather forecast says 30-40 % scattered thunderstorms every day of our trip. We are debating whether we should cancel our trip. We were planning to go to Sea World & Six Flags. Any advice on how the weather is in that area would be great. We dont want to be stuck in our resort with bored 4 & 5 year old's. Thanks!

Don't cancel, those estimates may change and even if they don't it's unlikely that we'll get much rain if any.

But we are talking about the weather so it's all am educated guess!

Cheers! M2

When in doubt, cancel it out. Do you have a back-up plan?

This TV station is saying no rain until Friday and Saturday, and just a 30% chance on those days.

That is poor advice, at best.

If it is a 30-40% chance of thunderstorms, there is a good chance it will rain briefly, do it's thing... and move on. Good grief.

We are waiting for some of this rain that is supposedly coming.

If it rains it will be scattered, like 30% chance of rain where you are. If it does rain, it will be short and sweet. Do not cancel. A nice rain will be a good diversion for a busy day.

If you base it on 30% chance you will never leave the house. Come to SA and have a good time.

30% chance of rain to me means there's a 70% chance it won't rain. I guess since your planned outings are at water parks you plan on getting wet? Worse case scenario you get under cover or wait it out in your car until it passes.......with kids that age you probably don't want to be out in the sun all day anyway.

The kids will love Seaworld, the shows are awesome. Where are you staying?

And I always thought when they say 30% chance of rain, that was 30% of the TV stations coverage area might receive some rain. The area could be from just north of San Antonio to Seguin to Eagle Pass to Big Bend. maybe a little stretch of the area, but you get the idea....

30 to 40% means chances are it wont rain. If it does, it'll likely be a little here and there and not an all day thing.

Best forecast around is here San Antonio, Texas (78253) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground
