I am looking for a reliable group/company to do some landscape work for me out in the Lookout Canyon subdivision. I have tried contacting several different companies and have used several more with no luck in the reliability department.

So fellow San Antonians - do you have any recommendations for RELIABLE landscaping crews? I am not a cheap man and will pay a fair rate. any help is more than appreciated.

PLEASE help.

Default "And How!!!!"

Totally understand what you mean, dendox!! We've been trying for about 6 months to find somebody (just to do weekly cutting/edging) who will at least show up!! Last guy/company came, gave us a quote, we said, "yes please, do it!!" and then tipped them 20 bucks over what they charged (they did a decent job and we wanted to insure that they'd come back). Well, for the next week's service, we only heard excuses of why they couldn't get back and then never heard from them again. We've stopped every crew we've seen in the neighborhood and they never return messages. Have a new crew coming tomorrow, will see if this one works out. I swear, if there were a reliable landscape crew they could make a killing!!! (We'd even overpay them it they'd just show up!!)

So, after this whole rant, if anybody knows of somebody on the Far West side as well, can I piggyback on dendox's thread? Far West side recommendations as well? (heck, I think folks from ALL areas of the city could use them!)

I was hoping that I would open this thread this morning with all the answers....... Oh well.

It is amazing that there is not a reliable service that is widely known. I am starting to think that I may have a new business idea.

If anyone knows someone who may even the slightest bit reliable - please post.

I used an incredibly reliable guy for six years while we lived in the Stone Oak area. His name is Jacob of Jacob's Lawn Service. (210) 663-6891. He showed up every time without fail & I have recommended him to several people. I'm sure he would go to Lookout Canyon.

I "inherited" a nice fella named Pedro when I bought my house, comes by every 2nd Monday like clockwork. He mows, edges, does the weed-eater thing. Charges 60 bucks for the front, 40 for the back. I alternate 60 and 40 every other week because my front yard is huge, while the back is small and doesn't involve much work, so I just have it worked on every 2 weeks. So yeah, I spend 100 a month total and he always shows up. Anyhoo, he's reliable as heck. Call his son John at 559-0548, unless you wanna talk directly to Pedro, who doesn't speak a lick of English though, at 832-8044. He also trims trees, hedges, etc.

Gee, I messed up on that. I pay 60 for the ENTIRE yard, and 40 for FRONT-ONLY. So, THAT equals to one hundred a month. I was half-asleep when I wrote that yesterday.
