In my previous post I was asking about apartments near Sonterra Blvd. Now my FIL's company is considering an office space very near the Shops at La Cantera. Are there any really nice apartments anyone can recommend close by? Any to avoid?

Thanks

the closest would probably be the ones on babcock, north of 1604 (at least 2 complexes I can think of off the top of my head). they are brand new, but they are so close to utsa, I imagine they will get a ton of students. I would probably avoid them for that reason.

If I were you, I'd consider the new apartments at the rim, and some that are a little older, but nice looking, at i-10 and camp bullis. both within a 2-5 minute commute, since they are essentially just outside of la cantera.

another option is UTSA blvd and vance jackson (south of 1604). several (maybe 3) new complexes there as well. right by a middle school, so good if you have kids, not so good if you get stuck in school traffic. approx 3-4 miles from la cantera.

sorry, do not know the names of any of the complexes. hopefully you can google them off the info I was able to give you.

I second that, if you can afford a little extra splurge for The Haven at the Rim, its just accross the highway from la cantera, and there are also new office spaces going in at The Rim.

if your FIL's looking for a high profile location with a lot of traffic, and clients with cash, La Cantera is the place.

Take a look at Vista Ridge on Camp Bullis Road just across IH-10 from The Rim. Those are some nice looking places and they are six minutes from La Cantera (3.5 miles) by taking the access road to La Cantera Parkway. Plus, you have The Rim almost within walking distance. They ain't cheap, but if you're looking for someplace nice then they could be the ticket!

Cheers! M2

I cannot stress this enough: Buyer beware when it comes to ANY Western Rim property, including any 'Estate of' property and all 'Mansions of' apartments. They look nice, but it's all facade.

I have, however, heard good things about The Haven

There is an apartment complex on the north side of 1604 between NW Military and Bitters. Name of the complex scapes my mind right now, but it seems very nice from the outside and is only like 5 minutes to La Cantera (and closer to Stone Oak area).

May be worth considering...
