Texas Transportation Museum
Anyone been there? It is along Wetmore. We pass by there quite a lot and my kids have been asking to go. What's in there?
Thanks.

Basically it's an old train station set up with tons of antiques and memorabilia. There is a small village that the volunteers created that is pretty neat to look at and there is a train (about 2 cars) that you can actually ride. It's pretty nice if your kids like trains. We went for a birthday party which was nice, but won't go back until Christmas when they decorate and have Santa riding in the train. Not bad for a been there, done that type of experience

read about the museum's "Santa's Railroad Wonderland" event in OurKids and was thinking about taking the kiddos. Admission is a bit stiff though -- has anyone been to this?? Is it worth going / paying for??? Sounds neat....but then again, so did the Dinosaur Museum's yearly shindig

It's okay for the little kids and going there once is enough. Don't go in the summer. Not a lot of shade there.

Yep, saw it on KENS5 online. Not sure how bad the damage was, but it looked pretty extensive...

Ack! I saw a second of that report, but didn't connect the two. Thanks for the warning...
