Perhaps she has witnessed the 3 pm energy crash that happens throughout the city departments and wants to increase productivity? When productivity increases, new ideas are born!
Shoot, the 3 pm energy crash is here at my work too! We started doing more fruit, veggie, and healthier options for meetings and it seems people are more bright eyed and still productive toward the end of the work day.
I'd love to see vending machines (anywhere where vending machines are located in the city) that have sugar free candy (for those with diabetes), lite potato chips (corn tortilla chips, 100 calorie popcorn bags) and non high fructose corn syrup diet soda.

I admit, I was upset when they offered to roll the red carpet out for her (perks and a car at taxypayer expense) when she was going to be offered the job in SA. She seems like she knows how to do her job but hopefully she remains focused on more pressing issues.

I viewed this as an employer making a choice for its employees, like those employers who declared their buildings or vehicles to be smoke free years before the law required it. Don't private employers make this kind of choice all the time?
