"Illinoise" instead of "Illinois" - you say "Illinoise" to me and I will correct you, I don't care who you are. And if you are foolish enough to say, "Why put an S if you don't pronounce it?" I will say, "Do you say, "ArkanSAS, too?" Drives me insane.

And yes, "getting off the car" - that totally just makes me laugh. Of course when I say I'm going to the movie house, I get laughed at, so it all evens out.
When I had the misfortune of living in Wichita KS many years ago they would all prounounce Arkansas.... ArKANSAS. Emphasis on the KANSAS. It always bugged me and I bugged them because they thought I was intentionally pronouncing Arkansas wrong.

All rowdy (rowdies) - translation, something taken/done to the extreme, ex: "he fell and hit the wall all rowdies"
Dirties style - translation, something low down/hardcore, ex: "the rwandans were murdered with machetes dirties style"

"For the REALZ"

As in: "I'm getting a job for the REALZ"

also acceptable "This time for the REALZ"

As in: "I'm getting a job, this time for the REALZ"

OK, this one actually bothers me ~ "Mama" or "Papa" for babies/little kids. It makes me cringe! I mean, come on, don't we already have a teen pregnancy epidemic in this country, do we REALLY need to start telling them that they're parents when they're itty bitty. (Sorry, don't wanna offend anyone that uses it.)

Occasionally I'll hear "Mija" and "Mijo". THAT I luuuuuuuuuv!!!

"I have to take my dog a bath."

I hear that one a lot. Personally, I "give" my dog a bath.

My dad has always called me mom. Kinda makes sense since I was named after my grandma (his mom). But yeah mama or papa for kids, I dunno I guess if they're named after a mom or dad.
