The kids started the school yr today in MV. What happened to the traditional day after labor day ? This is just too early especially since aug is usually the hottest month of the yr. It just dont seem right.

Yes, I TOTALLY agree with you about that!

I grew up and attended school on the East Coast and we always had the entire summer off for vacation.

It's absolutely ridiculous for school to resume in early August as it does in Moreno Valley!

They say they're strapped for funds, but the school district could save a LOT of money by extending the school vacation so that students and teachers return after Labor Day.

I can remember broiling my ass off when school started in September. Naturally, that was before schools were air conditioned. Kids today have it easy.
