thats pretty accurate .... but i'm not 100% sure about the commute times.

The best neighborhoods and views will be north of Rancho, the Alta Loma neighborhood is nice, as well as most of the stuff north of the 210, especially surrounding Chaffey City College.

I have good family friends that live in Alta Loma and they really enjoy it. Their "kids" are my age, and seem to have gotten a good education in HS there.

Why make that drive? In this market you coud find a home at a good price closer in Pasadena, La Crescenta, Azusa, Sierra Madre. Coming home at 4 pm from pasadena to Rancho Cucamonga would be hell. I would say 2 hours.

Commute times will be more than an hour, particularly on Fridays.

On some Friday afternoons leaving at 2:30, its taken me 1 hr, 45 minutes to get from Pasadena to the 15 using the 210.

Maybe Azusa will be similiar price range.

But based on past postings asking similiar questions, OP's train of thought is:

1.) I need 2500+sqft mini mcmansion cause ZOMG my crap needs space.
2.) ZOMG renting is like throwing your money away.
3.) ZOMG need great schools for the kids. Average schools just will not do.
4.) ZOMG so cheap in Rancho Cucomounga. And 30 miles each way = 30 minute drive, right?
