At work we call the smell "the stench". It is a horrible smell that lingers in the air. I work in Ontario off Mulliken & Philadelphia in between the 60 fwy and the 10 fwy. The stench smells like the old Farmer Johns slaughter house that was in the city of vernon. For some reason the stinky smell only comes about in the evening and early morning. There is rumor that the company next door to ours burns dead roadkill in the evening time. Who knows, but the smell is so strong at times it follows you into your car!

Like others said, it's a poop factory. They can only run them at night, imagine if they did it all day! But remember, it's a necessity of indoor plumbing, lol. There is another one at the 605/60 interchange, they are in every city in the country.

I'm 60 miles away and several thousand feet higher, but still smell the Salton Sea stench several time a year.
