that's how the two towns self identify - Temecula feels like they're right around the corner from SD. Relative to Murrieta, Temecula is nicer and better planned - just ask anyone who lives there and has to look at the eye sore halted development off Murrieta Hot Springs Road, east of the Winchester and how long has Murrieta been planning on extending Butterfield Stage Road? In Temecula, there's at least a mall, wineries, ranches and a vibrant old town. Now, I mentioned I lived there - past tense - (I moved to Carlsbad years ago and haven't looked back) but I still have friends who live in both towns.
btw, if read your zip correctly, you're in...Rancho Cucamonga??? Seriously? Of "Next Friday" fame? LOL
yeah, I should be humble....

Wrong. I live in Rancho Palos Verdes. However, I did grow up in Rancho Cucamonga and it is about the same as Temecula minus the snobs, minus the amount of raised trucks with dudes in tattoos, and minus the large amount of drug related crime.

You are seriously butthurt aren't you? Why? What happened to you in Temecula that you are projecting on the inanimate object of a whole city of over 100,000 people?

Nothing butthurt here. I think Temecula is a fine city.. but what made me decide it wouldn't be my first pick to live if I move to Riverside County is because of the following:
1. (first and foremost) bad attitude of people who think they are better than others when not justified. People certainly should have pride in their city but to think so lowly of other cities that are no worse than theirs is just comedic. A ghetto co-worker told me a story about when he tried to hit on a pretty lady at a bus stop in Inglewood, while driving his Toyota Camry. The 'lady' laughed at him and remarked that he should come back when he gets a REAL car. See the irony? Well that's the irony I see when I see someone from the IE (Temecula) put down another city in the IE (Murrieta) that happens to rank much higher in the FBI national survey of safety list (Murrieta: #39, Temecula #119).
2) Growing crime drug related. Goto crimereports.com. Look at Temecula in the past 6 months. Drug related crime is even more abundant than that of Lake Elsinore. Look at Murrieta. enough said.
3) Crowdedness. Temecula has the congestion of a big city minus all the benefits of a big city (except shopping).
Again, Temecula is a great city. I'd consider moving there but those above 3 issues makes it less favorable to *ME* in comparison to a few other cities in Riverside County. Take it with a grain of salt, this is just my opinion and you're entitled to your own.

jtsigma...
i thought at my american husband ,when i read number one you wrote..he arrived evening in temecula first time after a long driving from northcalifornia and he had to go out to buy something..anyway he came back and we talked again on the phone..he must have made a "very good" first experience in temecula..we live in Napa hills in a very rich area, among multimillionairs.."but none of them behaved like some people hier!"complained my husband... na ja,he had to deal with a blonde in a bmw (some parking issues)..must have been the same lady your friend talked about...only that my hubby has a very sharp toungue and is not afraid of telling his opinion,so the poor blonde must have been traumatised!
anyway he said, his first impression on that first evening..too much show off..

Burburuz1313: I'm sorry to hear that. I guess it's not just me afterall.. (actually I've heard it so many times from so many different people. Although, I wanted to give Temecula the benefit of the doubt, I didn't actually believe it until I saw the thread that started all of this). Now we know.
