Hi all. Just got a new job at March ARB, and my wife and I are moving to the area in two weeks. We want to rent a small house (2 bdr. 2 bath) without a terrible commute to work. We don't have kids or pets, and we prefer quiet areas.

Suggestions for quiet, low crime neighborhoods? We are in our 40s. I have heard good things about:

Arlington Heights
Orangecrest
Woodcrest

and bad things about:

Most of Moreno Valley
Casa Blanca

Help! Where should we be looking? Thanks everyone!!!

Hello. Welcome to the Inland Empire! The specifics would depend on what your budget is, but you will most likely be able to rent something nice within the area.

You are correct about Arlington Heights, Orangecrest, and Woodcrest being quiet, low crime areas.

Some other areas to consider include the Canyon Crest and Mission Grove areas of Riverside (lots of nice newer and middle age homes, these are probably your best bets for finding what you're looking for), as well as the area south of Victoria Golf Course (older area). All these are quiet, clean, safe, and easy commute to March.

Areas to avoid: You are right about Casa Blanca, and most of MoVal. Also you may want to avoid Perris.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
