Um, I might suggest steering clear of Perris or Nuevo, but Moreno Valley might work out. Nuevo is full of crack heads drug dealers ( I know someone who left there because of that) and Perris probably isnt that far behind in that way.
I was just told over the past weekend that a relative, who used to own some rental property in M V still owns them and maintains them very well. After all these years, heck, I thought he would have moved on to the high country, after he was able to retire.

Moreno Valley is "OK" but you need to be on the North side of the 60 freeway to be in those areas. Murrieta/Temecula is a traffic nightmare, but they do have some nice areas of homes. Since you won't be commuting for work, you can plan driving accordingly I suppose, to avoid traffic.

I was told to stay clear MV because of the high crime rate.

My Mom and sister live in Moreno Valley, west of the 60 freeway near Pigeon pass. Not sure what that area is referred to as. They don't have any problems. The neighbors are always outside alot, and they all keep an eye on each other. Which is a good thing.
I also have 2 more sisters and a brother in Riverside near RCC and one downtown on Spruce street. The one on Spruce says she is just 2 blocks from a 'bad' area, and has never had a problem. Again, neighbors all watch out for each other.

The area I grew up in, in Moreno Valley, which was Sunnymead way back when, I heard is now all ghettoed out. Indian street near Atwood/Eucalyptus/Cottonwood,etc.
I just don't understand why the city/state governments let towns deteriorate this way.
