Default moving to lake arrowhead?

My husband and I are considering moving to Lake Arrowhead. Our family lives in the LA area. We live in a mountain area in another state now and enjoy it. We spent a day in Lake Arrowhead and liked it. However, we need to confirm the approximate costs including insurance rates, cost of housing, issue of the travel to LA, and any other issues relevant.

We need an area to hike, bike and run/walk in. Is this an appropriate place to move to? We love where we live and do not want to make a mistake.

Thanks for any help you can give.:conf used:
