I understood that they were fighting that name change because it was too divisive.

Also 92557 with Reche Canyon, Box Springs, Hidden Springs, Sunnymead Ranch, etc. is nice.

Hi ! I will move in CA 92555 , I hope crime report will not affect my feeling of 92555( It seems not good ) , because I am a pretty cute and good citizen in the United States of America. I will move in south east part of Moreno. I hope nobody will break in my house .

It's just interesting to me that Rancho Bellagio is still in or near Moreno Valley, so I don't get how that name change some how makes the people who live in that community safer. In my opinion,Moval is a very nice city over all, yes it has and had problems that gave the city a bad rap or name, but overall, if you compare moreno valley to Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Perris, Colton, Mead Valley, Rialto, Moreno Valley wins hands down. None of those cities I just listed has any major shopping malls with Macy's, JC Penny and Sears as Moval nor do they have as many nice neighborhoods with lakes too.

Relocating to Redlands/Yucaipa/elsewhere: need advice
aloha, my husband and I are also relocating to the I.E. for a Fed position, and i'm hoping to enter the work field again, myself, despite the sour economy....
here's the skinny: we are climbing the latter in the Fed system and plan to be in the area for 4-6 years. we lived in Long Beach for 4.5 yrs (we've been in CO for about 3 years now) and did not like it. ours was a transitional neighborhood: 3-4 blocks in any direction and one was in either a seedier area or a much nicer one. our luck ran out, though, and within 1 month my husband was mugged and a guy on crystal meth came very close to breaking into our house. at the time our little girl was 15 months-old and not at home but the combined experiences sent us back to CO.
Q. are there neighborhoods/towns that we can consider that offer a more homogenous socio-economic make-up--as opposed to those that have "good" and "bad" areas? that said, we do appreciate diversity, coming from the islands (Honolulu is a very concentrated cosmopolitian place--a unique cultural geography).
we want to avoid towns straddling freeways (Calimesa, Perris, etc). we also need to buy a home in an area that will steadily rise in value as the market recovers. what we have gleaned from the reality websites/city-data/other sources of info is that home prices have dropped 40%-50% in the towns of Yucaipa, Redlands and Woodcrest--areas that might be a good place for our duration of stay. there are many nuances associated with buying a house in any particular area, and S. Cal is a unique real estate market to be sure. any advice on this is greatly appreciated. we will be in the area for 4-6 years--CA is not home, but a stepping-stone....
Q. how's the price of gas, food, and utilities in the general area? we did enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's while in LB! and there were ample Sam's Club/Costco's around.
Q. how are the schools in the aformentioned areas? i understand CA has been hard-hit by the recession and i'm concerned about just how much of a hit the primary education system has taken?

Where exactly is the job located? I would plan my location around the commute.
