Default What's Fun to do in Riverside?

Taking the parents to see my brother in Riverside CA. I can't rely on my brother for entertainment because he is an introvert and not social at all. Any advise on places to visit, restaurants and bars to try in Riverside would be great. Thanks so much.

I enjoy going to the drive-ins. There are two in Riverside: Rubidoux is the one I go to and Van Buren. If you go to the Rubidoux one, it is $7 for each adult and you get to see two movies. the movies are listed online.

Outdoors: hiking Mount Rubidoux, California Citrus State Historic Park (beautiful!), airplane museum at March Air Force Base....
Indoors: Mission Inn (I highly suggest you stop by there, you will love it), Sevilla Restaurant and Bar, and all of the other plentiful restaurants and museums in downtown Riverside.
Close-By: San Bernardino Mountains, Disneyland, Beach

Yeah, and since no one has mentioned Tyler Mall yet, I'll do it. I had my 8th grade promotion ceremony at Castle Park (among other fun times).

I am surprised that the drive-in on Van Buren is still there. Some good and bad memories there.

Don Jose for slow Mexican, Miguel's Jr. at the mall for slightly faster Mexican.

I forgot to check it out when I was there in November, but isn't Riverside Plaza all re-did and stuff? When I was a student at RCC (lol), I took a trip down memory lane (my mom worked there in the late 80's/early 90's) through the old mall, and all that was left was B. Dalton, Montgomery Ward (), Harris, and Sbarro, and maybe the old Vons that was connected to the mall (this was circa 2001). The remaining shuttered stores all had signs on them that said "Property of Pacific Bell" (lol). It'd be interesting and/or sad to see how it has changed.

David - the Plaza looks completely different. Vons is there on one end. The old Harris is a Forever 21. Most of the indoor mall was demolished and it's a walkable outdoor shopping center with a main street type deal down the middle. There's a movie theater, several sit-down restaurants, several fast-ish resturants (Chipotle, Pick Up Stix, etc), and some small boutiques. There was a Borders there but now it's sitting empty when they all went out of business. They moved Trader Joe's to a separate building with a CVS out toward Riverside Avenue. It's definitely become the place to hang out, meet, or see a movie - even more than Tyler I'd say. Although Tyler's done a lot of expansion too.

Wow! I'll have to check it out next time I'm there.

Tyler Mall hasn't changed much IMO, just different tenants, but pretty much still at capacity (and busy Black Friday weekend).
