I would check out Norco as well, when I was a toddler that was where my parents first moved to (from Iowa) and they had a nice little ranch house on about a half acre with 3 horse stalls, a huge backyard and a decent sized corral. My mom really loved the community but couldnt take the heat and my fathers job was in coastal Orange county so we quickly moved to south oc, but I remember the place fondly! Good luck!

Norco really doesn't have god or bad areas. The newest homes are built in the hills to the east. There are also nice, newer neighborhoods west of the 15 Freeway, behind Norco College and up by Corydon Avenue. Most of the larger properties are east of the 15 Freeway. Some neighborhoods in Norco are eclectic with a really nice house next to a shack. Since Norco is a small town, it will be easy to drive around and see everything.

Well, we've been out there a couple times now to take a look around and I do like what I see, but I also have a few concerns.

I love the newer area East of the 15, off Corydon and near the High School, where houses look nicer, though there don't appear to be many big lots like you'd find in downtown Norco.

I'm concerned about access to the riding trails from that area - is it possible to get down to the River from East of the 15, or will we basically be stuck riding through the neighborhoods and forced to ride all the way through everything to get to the hills and riding park North East of the old city?

Anyone know?

Stay north of 6th Street/Norco Drive (Street changes name when crossing I-15) for easier access to the Santa Ana River Trails. Actually Norco High School is off Temescal Avenue on the eastside. Corydon is on the westside. Grading has started on the Silverlakes Equestrian Park north of the Santa Ana River off Hamner Avenue. When finished they hope to host many equestrian events and soccer tournaments.

I've lived in Temecula for nearly 20 years, and when we moved here there were more horses than people, so this is STILL a great horse community, and there are horse properties big and small in every part of the city. And in this case 'Horse properties" means everything from quarter-acre lots to 50 acre commercial ranches.

And, we have one of Souther California's great small businesses, run by really really nice people:
