I have recently been accepted into the Loma Linda Dental School but my wife works in the San Fernando valley near Granada Hills. Is there a good midway point where we could find find affordable housing and/or reasonable commuting times for the both of us? We were thinking Duarte or Glendora as options. Any advice?

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

That area near the 210/57 should be fine, but her commute will suck much more than yours (though both will be long, that's 82 miles between Granada and LL!).

It's times like these I wish I had a bunch of helicopters to give away.

Is there a dental school closer to her work? Seriously, this commute will drive you both insane.
