I tend to capitalize words of main subjects or important words to catch the viewers attention...I'm sorry if it annoys you,but it's just a habit of mine.

Just be thankful i'm not typing the entire posts all in caps

Ya. You're right. Then everyone would hate you and would think you're Asian.

Ditto what Cali909 said. You're coming from Chicago? To the Inland Empire? You will rue the day. If you make this move, one day in the very near future, you'll remember back to what that person on city-data said and you'll say, "damn. she was right".

Fontana is KLAN country. The Klan and horses. There. Hope this helps
I have lived in Fontana since 1993, and have NEVER seen a KLAN member, true back in the day Fontana did have a big KLAN problem, but there was a KLAN problem in many other places as well. Fontana is so different now, it has grown and has many new homes and shops, it is not full of Horses and Klan, and Horses are only in the county area and very few people have them unless you have a yard with acreage, the Inland Empire has alot to offer, cheaper than L.A. area.

Wow, all of you have been tremendously helpful. If the people around the area are as thoughtful as all of you it shouldn't be a problem.

Like one of the posts mentioned, being scared of the unknown I think plays a big part of this job offer decision. I think it is the reason you see so many theads stating with "HELP" on the titles.

But regardless I want to move to a safe place, peace of mind is very important to me. Don't get me wrong, I know all about dense urban areas, that being said we all know you can't everything you desire in such places.

I am currently under negotiation with the salary offered, so I will keep you all posted.

And thank hgclyde, you links are really helpful.

Wow I don't get that one! What does being Asian have to do with typing in caps?

maybe it's just something teenagers make fun of, but we all make fun of people who do that, and they usually turn out to be Asian. i'm not being racist, i've found this info out from personal exp.

Wow! I guess you have a very different view of what is racism as I do as well as other progessive minded individuals. There are lots a stereotypes about various cultures that exist that I happen to think are horrendous to perpetuate. I refuse go into any of them as i'm sure we have all heard some these stereotypes about other cultures. There is no need to repeat such uglyness. I find it rude & insulting. I would be ashamed!

If you're going to go that far West look at Glendora or San Dimas first. nicer, smaller communities less traffic and cleaner cities. better schools too, if thats an issue

I have never seen a Klan member in Fontana maybe 20 years ago but it is very different now. I would stay away from Fontana because of crime and gangs in the areas that rent would be between 800-900 a month. You are single so you only need a studio or one bedroom which will help keep you in that range. I don't think you can find anyhting in that price range in rancho cucamonga, even a studio. Redlands is a possibility and a very nice town. I rent a 2 bedroom townhome for 1050 a month in a very nice complex, in a good area of redlands. I am married and a mother of two so i don't know much about nite life anymore. But when I was young I always had tons of fun here. It just depends on what you like. I always hated clubs so that was not a big thing for me. I went to movies, great places to eat, and the beach. The beach isn't too far away, San Diego and L.A arenot that far away, hell vegas is not that far away if you really want to go have some fun. the I.E has a great location. We are not far from anything. I would check out Redlands, and Upland like many have suggested. If the price is too good to be true there is a reason. Also check out Riverside. There are some nice places there with decent prices. Good-luck....
