I wanted to share an article I read about the opening of a distribution warehouse of Amazon in San Bernardino at http://newstoday.x11s.org/amazon-hiring-sb Is it OK to work for Amazon?

In this economy, if you have a job offer that is good. Besides, after you've been there a while, other opportunities may arise.

[go for it]

According to the article in today's LA Times, "The San Bernardino center shipped its first book to a Nevada buyer Wednesday" and "The new facility now has 700 workers, with more hires expected soon."

I don't know anything about Amazon as an employer, but it seems like it ought to be stable at least.

It's good since its bringing in employment from outside the county (ie. the jobs created aren't dependent on IE consumer spending). What that means is if the IE has an economic crisis, those jobs won't be lost.

That is pretty good though for the area with increasing jobs. I would just hate to think of my car stolen in the parking lot though lol

Not thrilled about paying sales tax on every Amazon and Zappos order now. Although I guess that was coming anyways even if the warehouse wasn't opened up in CA.

If I can discribe the Amazon San Bernardino location in one word, as an employee its GHETTO!!! Its more of a social meeting ground for the Inland Empires finest. Ive never heard the "N" word used more in my life, and I live in San Bernardino. All day its "My N/@@a" this "My N/@@a" that.
