Someone says they are "thinking" of moving to somewhere in a huge area with an area that can vary by definition (IE), without specifying a work location or budget, and it elicits a heated debate as to where they should go. If OP has an unlimited budget and doesn't have to worry about commuting, we'd still need to know their preferences as to climate, terrain, etc. I might choose Rancho Cucamonga, Lake Arrowhead of Temecula. But I might not choose anyplace in the I.E.

the places you should check are palm springs, apple valley and yucca valley because they are really great places to live if you are single or married with children. the places you should avoid are ontario and fontana because this area has alot of crime

For low crime, great schools. and affordable nice housing, Murrieta/Temecula is very hard to beat.
