Default Palm Spring, Indio, La quinta living?

Can someone please tell me how is life standard in desert area? Aside being 1.5 hour away from LA and Orange County, how is the single life out there, things to do besides golf? Appreciate a quick response....

Well, I don't really know about the single life. The single women I work with say it's awful for them, becuase too many of the men here are gay. So, I bet if you're a guy, gay or straight, you'd find plenty of people to date.

There are the usual shops, restaurants, movies, bars, sort of things to do out here. Plus, they're building more every day. There is hiking in nearby canyons and mountains, gambling at the casinos, rock climbing in Joshua Tree, and outdoor sports during the fall, winter, and spring.

The best thing to do would be to visit on a weekend and spend some time at local nightspots like Red 47 (it's Red some number, that might not be it) and the Yardhouse to see what kind of nightlife there is. (I'm sure there are others, but I'm not much of a party animal.) There's also the Village Pub in Palm Springs.
