Hello everyone,

I am a young single female about to relocate to Rancho Cucamonga. I found an apt complex but it is not gated and although, it doesn't look entirely shady, it borders Upland & Ontario, where some parts do look iffy. For example, going past Vineyard on 4th St looks like another world coming from 4th St and Haven. I know that some places have bad parts, even in the nice cities. Does anyone know if Vineyard and Arrow Route is safe?

Thanks!

That's kind of close to the Cucamonga Kings (a gang) territory, which is east of Archibald and south of Arrow. Your call...

Ok, thanks for your input. I am not too familiar with the upland, ontario, and rancho area so can you provide your input on which areas to avoid and/or where to look for?

Ontario: check out the apt complexes off 4th St between Milliken and Turner.

Hmm, I am a little confused...I looked it up on the map and it doesn't look too far from the gang infested area you mentioned, specifically Old Town Park...

Yikes. Omg, I am so thankful I researched on this site before choosing a place. I found a place in north Rancho (btwn Baseline & Miliken and Baselin & Haven), where the newly developed (or newly developed looking) apt complexes and homes are. You can tell a world of a difference btwn Arrow Route and there. Thanks Fontucky!

Btw, someone said that Lemon and Haven was bad too? Isn't that supposed to be in a nicer area though? I am confused as to why Rancho can be a bit pricey if there are so many bad areas...

I lived at Haven & Lemon back in 2003-2004. There was a pretty bad road rage drive-by when I lived there, but that was just because they got off at the Haven exit.

I doubt it's any sort of ghetto now. If one is afraid of any part of Rancho Cucamonga, they'd be afraid of 95% of places.
