They live in a desert and pay very little. My friend told me that he only paid $15-30/month.

It depends on the several factors. If his place has no landscape that requires daily watering, a pool that evaporates, low flow everything, and all water line are in good shape the water bills can be very reasonable. I have grass and plants in the front and rear of my home and a fairly large uncovered pool. I'm watering everyday now and my watrer bill for June was $68 dollars which is similar to the other houses I've owned out here. My property in West LA is about 40% larger with the water bill coming in at $125 - $200 per month.

We're all going to have low water bills very soon - if we use too much water we're going to be fined $500!!!
