Just wanted to send an update to the thread and everyone who posted.

This is a progression because it's an opportunity with a company that would only require me to be out there for about a year possibly two.. We have warehouses that are out in Rialto so would be working in a management role out there.

Checked out Rialto.. seems like Riverside is more "big city" for the IE and Claremont is more "small town" feel.. I liked Claremont in terms of the Village and all that which seemed to be a bit of nightlife going on..

In terms of commute it only took about 20min from Claremont with no traffic which I'm guessing might double? When traffic hits in the AM however, since the traffic is reverse commute I'm hoping it won't be to terrible

If you end up living in Claremont (LA county), just do your shopping in San Bernardino county or Riverside county.
Sales tax is higher once you cross over the LA county line

I second this.

Good idea. Your commute will be fine.

Claremont is a good choice, probably the best for what you are looking for. Since you are young & on a career track, a couple of years will fly by, & in your down time you can explore the rest of California, it's a huge & varied state, & most of it looks much better than the IE, take that from someone who grew up there! (in one of the, ahem, "less choice" areas of the IE!)
