Im 42 single female looking to move to a safe and affordable city in CA..people have told me to look in SB as opposed to other areas of CA..someone I know lives in Redlands/ riverside area..is this a good area?? what are some other safe and affordable areas? I was reading about palm desert but it seems like a ton of old folks LOL

What's average for say, a studio or 1br apartment? thanks

How much can you afford?
Inland empire - 1BR would be about $700, give or take.
Temecula and Murrieta are very safe.

If it were me and I could afford the Palm Springs area, I would definitely do it.

Far from LA and SD and hot as all hell in the summer, but it's a really beautiful place. No way I would settle for any of the many mediocre places in SB and RIV Counties.

Further North, Redlands, Riverside, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga are all OK in terms of safety.
Avoid Hemet, Barstow.

I've lived in Rancho Cucamonga for my whole life (minus my college years so about 20 total) and I definitely feel like it's one of the nicer/safer areas in the IE, especially considering its size/growth. Riverside is also worth looking into.

You can find out all these things by yourself. Go to hotpads.com and type in a location, then you can filter by number of bedrooms and price range. Most jurisdictions also post crime reports on their websites.
