You do one of three things when you say "Cali" :

1.) Mark yourself as "ghetto" to the rest of the world, and tell us all that you are mentally stuck in the 1990s rap culture.

2.) Make yourself look geographically illiterate, as Cali is an actual city in Colombia.

3.) Annoy us Californians!

For reference, I lived in various areas of Northern California for years and plenty of people would type or say "Cali." It's just a shortened word. But hey, maybe people in this region are uptight

I've lived in both Northern and Southern CA. No one within my earshot has *ever* called the state "Cali".

Same with me and my wife, she's been offered a government job. Mid 20's and I'm 30 this year were unsure if we should move due to the age, the hot summers, and not too much to do. We live in San Diego renting but the upside if we move to Palm Springs we can buy a home or a condo and still pay the same price every month. Palm Springs scenery is amazing and Downtown is laid back with the mountains all around. We drove through many neighborhoods condos and the homes were grade A.
