So this may or may not be the case for all who ignore or don't receive the jury duty summons in the mail. But in this situation with him, they send a police officer to deliver the final summons and If that one is then ignored, that's when you officially get in trouble.
Yes. Jury summons are sent through regular 1st class mail. 1st class mail is not a legal service of process. The only way 1st class mail can be legal is if you make some sort of stupid admission to the judge or the police officer, sheriff or other process server. So you deny, deny, deny! The burden of proof is on the court. You don't have to speculate what might have happened either. You never got it! Judges are very skilled at making you THINK that you'd better confess. They might even make threats about sending you to jail immediately if you don't confess. But you can't falter. Deny, deny, deny.

Having said all of that, when a cop shows up and hands you a notice THEN you have to appear. But you got the cop's notice -- nothing else.

Maybe you enjoy being defensive on behalf of third parties. I suggest a therapist.

Maybe you should worry less about what others do.

If only! Then I wouldn't have to have so many people on "ignore".

Well than the OP shouldn't have posted, and there shouldn't be a CD. Because this whole site is people posting about what they do.

You need to lighten up and get a sense of humor.

Seain Dublin, I love you. You make sense - very rare in these parts.

Anyhow, I wish CD would fix the glitch where if I put someone on 'ignore' and then someone else and quotes that ignored person, I wish that quote would be blocked from my view as well. But that's probably too complex a project.
