Hispanic Family Thinking of buying in Apple Valley (Los Angeles, Victorville: renters, felony)

First I want to say that I would prefer to buy here in Los Angeles but prices are going sky high $500,000 plus for what we are looking for.


I found Apple Valley to be a bit enticing but have read news about gangs, drugs and even skin heads. I narrowed my search south of the 18 fwy between apple valley road and Navajo road and cut off at sitting bull road.


Since I am moving away from family, I would like a big home 4 bedrooms or more if possible so when we have family visit they do not have to travel tired back home until the next morning/day.


Will I encounter possible racist in this area? We are upstanding citizens and like to keep our property clean and respect our neighbors.

The Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victorville area has about 300k residents, about 70% of that are Mexican. You should be fine. If you move in next to white people, all you have to do is mow your lawn once a month and don't stack up cars and they will love you. I'm in Victorville and white, all my neighbors are Mexican, the renters suck, but all renters suck, the home owners are good neighbors and we speak to each other regularly. Just don't move to felony flats in Apple Valley and you will fine.
The real issue up here now is mail box theft. My community end of the block box got broke into, I have been going to the post office and standing in line for my mail now for the last 2 months.
